The result of a musical encounter between singer Mathilde Fernandez and producer Paul Seul, co-founder of the Casual Gabberz collective, ascendant vierge (without capitals) was born in 2019. The combination of strange and lyrical pop with productions crossed with different strands of hard techno, trance and Eurodance made an impression on audiences and critics after a handful of self-released singles.
Through their releases, the duo continually offers a complete experience in which sound, text and image serve each other, with a lofty artistic ambition that’s instantly gratifying and bears repeated listens, both capturing and distilling the state of mind and condition of a post-modern world, between lucidity and fragmented dreaminess, distorted but so intensely melodic and poetic, just like its captivating music, catchy lyrics and unique visual identity.
